So after letting the HOMEMADE frosting sit in the fridge for about 24 hours, the cake was finally ready to be frosted!  The frosting was made with semi-sweet chocolate, but it was a perfect balance for the cake.  Man, that cake was RICH!  Although it took me 10 years to finally manage making a 3-layer cake, I am finally a professional cake maker!  bwhahahaha!  The whole lean was of course done on purpose and my mom and i both ended up making up jokes about it and laughing so hard, that we both ended up doing an “OMG I’m laughing so hard that I’m going to pee” dance.  I don’t laugh that hard often enough, and it’s awesome that most of the time it’s with my mom that I laugh that hard  Maggie told me that I was the BEST cake maker ever, and that the cake was the best she ever tasted!  :-D  It was an awesome cake! ***love***

I hadn’t been able to get all 3 dogs in a picture yet, and all on their own they all lined up in the kitchen doorway.  They were of course begging for some kind of food, which at the moment I totally can’t remember what it was.  Eh, I’m getting old  The boys also couldn’t help but take advantage of a photo opportunity and kept on getting in front of the dogs.  The boys were of course being adorable, so I obliged  The dogs all look hopeful that I will change my mind and ignore the rules and give them human food.  Of course, Daisy especially, just waits until our backs are turned and goes in for the kill all on her own.  We’ve had to make defensive measures against her plundering ways.  Can you tell I am watching Pirates of the Caribbean?

Maggie’s birthday was a 2 day event.  Mainly because I couldn’t get the icing for her cake to thicken enough for us to be able to eat the cake that night.  She wasn’t too terribly upset by it all since she had her birthday dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise.  They even brought out a “special” birthday dessert for her.  Of course, everything was even more fun with Grandma and Grandpa there.  It was a good time, and she spoiled quite a bit with her birthday gifts.  She was quite pleased  She even got a Taylor Swift CD that she can play on her new radio!  She was all OMG over that lol  She also got a good start to a new wardrobe.  She has outgrown most of her other clothes, so these were most welcome

This is the first Halloween that we have been able to walk out the front door and get right down to the trick or treating business.  It was awesome!  The night was beautiful, not too cold and clear sky.  There were a ton of neighborhood kids out too, it was wonderful to see so many families and all the different costumes.  Even some of the moms and dads wore costumes, a lot of fun!  I think we managed to walk almost 2 miles and hit every house with a porch light on.  We only ran into one house that the people handing out candy were actually kind of scary.  They even creeped me out, and Wyatt absolutely refused to go even remotely close to the creepy guys.  I really couldn’t blame him.  One of the guys actually felt kinda bad and apologized.  Not really appropriate for little kids but I am sure the older kids that were out enjoyed it.  I think the kids managed to get a total of 10 pounds of candy altogether.  Wyatt absolutely refused to give up his trick or treat bag although he couldn’t barely carry the thing.  There at the end Dad had to close up the bag and hang it over his shoulder.  Wyatt was a tired little man after all that walking, it was hard work.  Maggie and Will didn’t ever want to stop.  They couldn’t have too much candy.  They also were in way more of a hurry than Wyatt, although that might have been due to Wyatt not being able to see through his helmet very well.  It was a lot of fun to watch all three of them, they had such a blast!

This was the first wedding for all our kids except for Maggie.  Maggie’s first wedding was my brother’s, but she doesn’t remember it at all since she wasn’t even a year old when Pat got married.  This was a wonderful wedding for our kids’ first experience!  The ceremony was short and sweet and fun, and the party/dinner afterward was a blast.  The alcohol was free, so it was extra fun  Nah, I just had 3 beers (enough to give me my bright red drinking face) the whole night, but it was a lot of fun.  The kids got to wear their costumes more than once this year and they totally dug that!

Probably silly to put pictures up of these but I am so proud of them  I eyeballed these boots for months and I finally managed to talk Dave into letting me get them for a wedding last fall.  Been wanting to buy more clothes to go with THE boots, and managed to get an outfit for Tony and Amy’s where I could wear the boots  LOVE THEM

Maggie had a shift at one of the booth’s at this school function, so Daddy took them a bit early so they could enjoy the festivities.  Will even had a girl holler at him, “WEEEIILL!”  He assured me that she was JUST a friend who was a girl.  I highly encouraged this perceptive, girls can be great friends too.  He totally agreed, and he also has no desire for a girlfriend EVER.  lol that’ll change eventually…maybe.  The school actually ended up closing up things early so Maggie didn’t end up working her shift at the booth, so they managed to get home at a decent time.  That was important since we had to leave the next day for a family Halloween wedding.  The kids came home smiling and said they had a blast, so the world was a good place and Mama had some quiet time since I managed to get Wyatt to bed on time

This is Dave’s cat, we rescued her here in Omaha.  She is finally coming out of her shell here in the Robbins’ household.  It helps that Daisy isn’t chasing her and Truman every time they make an appearance.  Although she was “supposed” to be Dave’s cat, she spends most of her time in Maggie’s room and obviously her viola case whenever she leaves it open.  This is one fat cat as well, her fat pad is quite embarrassing.  When she runs, or even trots, her fat pad swats her sides.  So shameful

Now, 2 hours and half hours of fun we all load up and collapse.  Although I think we managed to make off with one too many pie pumpkins :-/  oopsie  Man we all took naps after that trip.  ALOT of fun!

There was a pot-bellied pig that I swear every time any of us got close to it, it would start a weird baby squeal and back away.  The goats were incredibly friendly and fun to visit with.  The rooster was a lazy pile of feathers riding on the pig or one of the goats every once in awhile.  Wyatt also proved that I have raised a bunch of heathens by chasing the baby ducks around the pen doing his squeal.  Funny all in all.
