Out of caramel apples, muffins, and pie the kids picked out Gatorade slushies. Although they did partake of my pie and ice cream, which was fine.

SBE–Face Painting!
Sometime after the Hay Rack Ride I managed to talk the kids into trying out the Haunted Barn Maze. The ladies there told me that it shouldn’t be too scary for them, but oooooooh they were so wrong. Just the music was scary for the kids! Then some Frankenstein dude popped out at us and that was the end of that. We high-tailed it out of there, then we did face painting and they could still hear the music. They asked the lady to turn the music off for them, but she couldn’t because other people enjoy the music. Will wanted to have a ghost face even though he was warned that he would look a bit a like a skeleton, Mags wanted a bat, and Wyatt didn’t want the lady anywhere near his face, so he got a turtle on his hand. Maggie spotted a spider on the wall and just about had a kitten over it, although we were in a barn. Had to explain to her that as long as they aren’t in a house they are fine, she just kept a startled look on her face and had to move to a different spot. LOL

SBE–The Mad Cow Ride & Pumpkin Picking
Apparently we were the first folks who wanted to pick our pumpkins while out on this ride. As an adult she DID recommend getting one of the cars with a cushion
The kids were told before hand that they could pick any pumpkin as long as they could carry and not a one of them followed that rule. They took advantage of one of the ladies being there and I didn’t want to appear mean and tell the kids no. SOOOO we got 3 gi-hugus pumpkins, but Wyatt got a medium sized one but he still couldn’t carry it. Then we all rode back proudly with our pumpkins waving at the senior folks as we went by. LOADS of fun!!

SBE–The Hay Rack Ride
We were towed around the pumpkin patch and corn field by a tractor, with another family with grandparents included. It was a fun ride. It was getting warmer by then so we could just enjoy ourselves!

SBE–
Maggie feel in LOVE with this 18 year old gelding. While she was busy being the horse whisper the boys mainly played with corn. The boys did spare a couple of minutes to love on the horse, and Will actually touched the horse without squealing and being terrified! Helps that the horse was begging for attention and was super gentle

SBE–Fun Picture Props!
Will especially loved these props! He ran to each one begging mama to take his picture. Poor Wyatt barely reached most of the openings
Maggie was more interested in the animals, especially the horse.

Skinny Bones Pumpkin Expedition!!! THE Corn maze
We were the first to arrive on this gorgeous morning. It was perfect weather for sweaters! So we started out our adventures with the corn maze. We first had to listen to a creepy skeleton dude give us the rules for the corn maze. He told us about the corn sharks and they only got people when they separated from the group or went off the path. We saw where the sharks had passes by how the corn was pressed down and there were gaps in the corn. VERY creepy. The kids were in charge of navigation and searching for the 8 posts that we were suppose to find. We got through the maze pretty darn fast considering, but we only found 3 posts
but the ladies there gave the kids their prizes anyway

A Reprieve From the Humidity and Temp!
This was the first day in awhile where it was so hot and humid that the skeeters wouldn’t eat us alive. It was a positively beautiful day. I think Wyatt ran the whole first mile. At a baby pace but still a run. His face was bright red by the time we had to turn around. We had alot of fun and we were all so much more cheerful after getting some fresh air and activity.
School’s Out For Summer!!!
Now for the start of summer! The kids are going to be having a busy summer. Going to Missouri to see Grandma Lois and that side of the family, then onward to the McVay family. The big kids get to go stay with Grandma and Grandpa McVay for a couple of weeks. When they get back we start on swimming lessons. The summer will/is flying on by!

Last Day of School
We officially have a third grader and a first grader!! It was a gorgeous day, and Will was actually well enough to be able to go! Poor little dude missed Monday thru Wednesday because he had pink eye. Yuck!! So he got to participate in the Kindergarten graduation that they had for the kids (no parents allowed). The kids had a great day! We also went to the local cinema to have pizza and a movie, Shrek 3. Cute movie and the kids thought it was a hoot. Wyatt actually sat through it all, amazing
